In this piece, the mystical and luminous sheen of the mother-of-pearls, which are created by a reflection on the layers inside the mollusks’ shells, is paralleled to a stratified cliff where the moon-lit sea gleams in bluish hues. Hundreds of tiny pieces of mother-of-pearl are inlaid freely without adhering to any specific rules to create intricate patterns that resemble the rough yet delicate beauty of the strata that are formed at the hands of the waves, wind, and rain. 

패(貝)류 안쪽에 겹겹이 쌓인 레이어를 통해 반사되는 자개의 영롱하고 신비한 빛을 오랜 시간을 거치며 퇴적물이 책처럼 켜켜이 쌓인 기암절벽과 달빛에 비친 푸른 밤바다에 빗대어 투영시킨 작품.

정해진 규칙 없이 작은 자개 조각들을 손이 움직이는대로, 자유자재로 박아넣은 형상은 자연의 흐름대로 여기저기 부딪치고 휩쓸리며 투박하고 거칠지만 섬세하고 아름다운 자연과 닮아있다.
